Guidelines
These are the basic house guidelines for a comfortable stay at our traditional Matsumoto guesthouse, whether you are here for Matsumoto Castle, Narai-juku, or a Japan Alps base trip.
Amenities
A basic set of room amenities is prepared for your stay. Please feel free to use them.
- Towels
- Razor
- Toothbrush
- Comb
- Hair dryer
Living Room
- Please keep noise down after 11:00 PM
- Turn off the air conditioner and projector when not in use
- Be mindful of phone calls and video volume in shared areas
- Do not leave personal belongings in common spaces
- Please do not use other guests’ accounts or subscriptions
Bath and Shower
- Please remove hair from the drain after use
- Stand the diatomite mat upright so it can dry
- Avoid taking very long baths
- Please keep morning use brief
Toilet
Please help keep the shared toilet comfortable for the next guest as well.
- Do not flush anything except toilet paper
- Always flush after use
- Use the toilet quietly at night and early in the morning
- Smoking is not allowed inside
- Please let us know as soon as possible if there is any issue
Kitchen
The kitchen is shared. Please leave it ready for the next guest after use.
- Wash dishes and cooking tools and return them to their place
- Do not leave food in the rice cooker or pots
- Wipe the counter and stove after cooking
- Use shared condiments and food thoughtfully
- Separate garbage according to the house rules
- Check that the IH stove and appliances are turned off
- Label food in the refrigerator when needed
- Please avoid leaving strongly scented food for long periods
Other Notes
Lost items may be returned by cash-on-delivery after we confirm the details.
Please do not take equipment outside the property. If you stay three nights or more and would like a linen change, just ask us.
Depending on the day, other guests, volunteer staff, or student staff may be around. As we are in a quiet residential area, please be especially mindful of noise after 11:00 PM.
